Overview

How does a summer in Clear Lake sound? We are looking for a fellow food enthusiast to join the passionate (and fun!) Camp Cantina team!
Camp Cantina is a new & exciting restaurant/bar/deli and gourmet grocery shop in the heart of Riding Mountain National Park. We pride ourselves on sourcing locally & seasonally whenever possible and continue to develop relationships with local farmer and producers.
We are looking to fill the seasonal, full-time position of Sous Chef. This position will run immediate to October. We can be flexible on start and finish date.
Job Description:
- Collaborate with our head chef in food preparation
- Prep & execution of menu items
- Provide input on design of the food menus
- Provide servers with food menu information and key selling features
- Local farmer & producer engagement
- Help to oversee and supervise additional kitchen staff
- Assist with menu planning, inventory, and supply management
- Cleaning duties as required
- Complies with food safety standards
- Monitors and maintains kitchen equipment
- Offer suggestions and creative ideas that can improve upon the kitchen’s performance & output

Qualifications

- Formal culinary training is preferred
- Kitchen experience
- Current Food Handling Certification
