CJ106 FM is on the hunt for our next great radio guru. Smart, savvy and connected, you love to communicate, and it shows. Not only are you up to the task of hosting a daily Morning Show, but you’re keen to get out into the community to find out what is on the mind of your listeners. Not afraid of technology, you embrace social media and are constantly updating your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram feeds with compelling content that connects you to your followers.

Ideally, you’re entering into your second year of Media and Communications at ACC. You’re excited to learn about all the programs we use at CJ106 including the iMediaTouch Suite, Adobe Audition and MusicMaster. And because you understand the importance of community, you’re eager to meet and manage our station volunteers and give them a hand as needed; all the while keeping in mind that radio is fun.

Deliver Results.

We’re looking for that next Guru who can: create and edit daily music logs; maintain and edit the music database; create PSAs and advertisements for broadcast as required; organize and oversee volunteer schedule; host a daily show Monday to Friday; deliver daily new programming; ensure CJ-106 meets its broadcast requirements as mandated by the CRTC and CBSC;; train and guide Assiniboine Campus-Community Radio Society volunteers; perform various production duties as required including music scheduling and content distribution; and contribute to CJ106’s social media sites including Facebook and Twitter.

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs grant, which requires candidates to be:

  • Between the ages of 15-30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
  • Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee protection Act [S.C. 2001, c. 27]; and
  • Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

This competition will remain open until the positions are filled.
