Planned Giving

Planned giving is any gift either outright or deferred made with forethought about the benefits to a charity and the financial implications for the donor.

Planned gifts to Assiniboine Community College Foundation can support student scholarships, awards, and bursaries; capital projects; or enhancing student life and experiences, inside or outside the classroom.

In many cases, planned gifts come about because of changes in the life cycle, illness or death of family members.

Planned giving can provide taxable incentives. By donating a planned gift, individuals can reduce their tax bill by ALMOST HALF while leaving a legacy!

Characteristics of planned gifts are that they are usually made from capital assets rather than income. Most of the planning occurs with legal or financial advisors in conjunction with estate planning.

Some types of planned gifts include:

  • Cash
  • Gift in Kind
  • Publicly Traded Securities
  • RRSP
  • RRIF
  • Life Insurance
  • Property
