ACC is pleased to announce that 100 per cent of this year’s practical nursing spring graduates have passed the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam.

In total, 64 students wrote the test just before graduating from the college’s campuses in Brandon and Winnipeg as well as ACC’s rural rotating site in Portage la Prairie.

“This is an exceptional achievement for our most recent graduates and we’re proud to be a part of this milestone as they begin their careers,” said Kirk Joyce, Chair of Health Programs at ACC. “The health care field in Manitoba presents strong employment opportunities and growing demand for our graduates over the next few years.”

The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) provincially accredits ACC’s Practical Nursing program. Once graduates have passed the national licensure exam, they are eligible to work as licensed practical nurses (LPNs) under membership with the CLPNM.

Many employment opportunities exist for LPNs in hospitals, personal care homes, medical clinics and private agencies.

Earlier this year, ACC announced upcoming rural rotating sites in Portage la Prairie, Pine Falls and Dauphin. These locations will deliver the college’s Practical Nursing program in rotation over the next two years in addition to the permanent program offering at ACC’s campuses in Brandon and Winnipeg.
