ACC recently announced the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Bridging program, which begins in June 2014.

The program has been created specifically for newcomers to Canada who already hold foreign qualifications in the field of child care and early learning, but who require additional education and experience to be employed as early childhood educators in Manitoba.

ACC’s ECE Bridging program is designed to provide gap training for successful applicants. By assessing the existing skills, knowledge and ability of applicants, ACC will offer direct credit while identifying what gaps remain in order to meet requirements for both industry and an ACC diploma. In addition to the necessary technical training and skills development, the program focuses on language development as well as Canadian culture and workplace soft skills.

"The college’s ECE Bridging program will contribute to the much needed growth of licensed early learning and child care centres in communities across the province," said Tannis Hudson, Acting Director of Continuing Studies at ACC. "It allows those with international experience in early childhood learning the opportunity to expand their career options here in Canada."

Applications for the program have already started. ACC will hold free information sessions for potential applicants who wish to learn more. Those interested in attending can call 204.725.8700 ext. 6070.
