Assiniboine College to give future students a taste of technology
May 7, 2025
Assiniboine College is inviting those interested in careers in technology and innovation to take a deep dive into opportunities at the college connected to this sector. A more focused iteration of the college’s Spend a Day program, the upcoming ‘Spend a Day – Technology Edition’, will welcome participants on campus on Tuesday, May 13.
“Spend a Day is all about giving students a glimpse into what their future could look like” said Jana Sproule, Chair of Media and Office Technology programs at Assiniboine. “It’s a chance for prospective students to roll up your sleeves, try something new, and picture yourself in a rewarding technology driven career.”
“This special tech-focused edition will explore not only the programs the college offers in this space, but how many facets of technology span across sectors.”
With a focus on hands-on learning, attendees will experience what it’s like to study at Assiniboine while exploring exciting career possibilities in some of today’s most innovative and fastest-growing career fields.
“There’s a growing demand for skilled tech professionals in Manitoba and across the country” said Chris Budiwski, Chair, Edwards School of Agriculture & Environment. “This event is a great way for prospective students to explore their interests and discover the many ways Assiniboine can help them build their future.”
Throughout the day, participants will explore program areas that reflect the real-world demand for technology driven careers, with participants getting the chance to test-drive a program of their choice.
Registration is now open, and space is limited. Those interested are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot. All activities are free of charge and a complimentary lunch will be provided.
