Why choose CHCA?

Our program provides education in mental health, psychogeriatrics, gerontology and community-based health care to meet the evolving requirements of our population. In addition to classroom instruction, students will get clinical experience in health care settings, scheduled either in the day or evening, depending on the host facility.

Graduates are in high demand as our population ages, and your skill and care will have lasting effects on those you encounter. You’ll be ready for careers in acute and extended care hospitals, personal care homes, private care facilities, mental health settings and home care.

Graduates of the Comprehensive Health Care Aide program can continue their education at Assiniboine in the Practical Nursing program. Those who are admitted are eligible to receive a block credit transfer equivalent to 15 academic credits.
