Why choose Education Assistant?

You’ll learn to work as part of an educational team in areas of classroom support, special education and speech with children from diverse backgrounds. As you progress, you’ll develop your interpersonal and problem solving skills, cultural sensitivities, and ultimately learn to make a difference in children’s lives.

Some of our Education Assistant courses may be credited to the Early Childhood Education program if that’s the path you’re considering. This program is also available by distance delivery.

Grads find employment as classroom assistants in primary, middle and senior years schools, direct aides for disabled students, social service agency youth workers, and private assistants for children requiring extra help. Additional opportunities exist with school divisions, First Nations communities, social services agencies, or as private tutors.
