John Deere TECH

Duration/Start: 4 years

Credential: Certificate

Challenge yourself to an in-depth exploration of John Deere engines, power trains, hydraulics and machine set-up systems, after all, nothing runs like a Deere!

ACC’s four-year John Deere TECH program is one of a kind in Manitoba and includes all four levels of the Agricultural Equipment Apprenticeship training, with specific John Deere courses following each level. You’ll get a balance of technical theory and practical work. Students must be sponsored and employed by a John Deere dealership.

This unique program is located at the Len Evans Centre for Trades and Technology at ACC's North Hill Campus. Completed in 2010, this 130,000 square foot facility features innovative machine shops, laboratories, computer labs and classrooms.

Students are challenged with an in-depth exploration of John Deere engines, power trains, hydraulics and machine set-up systems. You’ll learn basic principles, maintenance, diagnostics, removal, replacement and repair techniques for John Deere equipment. You’ll acquire communication and customer relations skills, personal finance and dealership fundamentals. Over the course of your training, you’ll explore systems for haying and harvesting, planting equipment, consumer products, power trains, tractor, hydrostatic drives and hydraulics, electrical, and agriculture management solutions.

In order to receive funding for technical training, students must also be registered as an apprentice with the Apprenticeship Branch of Manitoba Jobs and the Economy. The John Deere Partnership Manual provides details for students and sponsors.
