What is IELTS?
IELTS is a test developed by the world’s leading experts in language assessment on four key English language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. It is designed to assess the language ability of people who aim to study, work, immigrate and integrate an English-speaking environment.

Accepted and trusted in Canada
IELTS is the preferred high stakes English language test in Canada. Trusted by over 350 Canadian organizations, it was the first test to be recognized by Citizenship and
Immigration Canada (CIC) and Immigration Quebec as proof of English language proficiency for Express Entry (Skilled Immigrants), Quebec-selected skilled workers, Provincial Nominee etc... In May 2014, the CIC announced it was renewing its trust in IELTS for another five years.

There are two versions of the test: Academic and General Training
- IELTS Academic: If you want to study at a university, at an undergraduate or postgraduate level, or join a professional association where English is a prerequisite.
- IELTS General : If you want to apply for Express Entry, or any other immigration program, in order to establish anywhere in Canada.

IELTS at ACC
ACC is proud to be an official testing centre for IELTS.
The listening, reading and writing tests are all taken on the same day. The speaking test can take place up to seven days before or after the other papers; this is determined by the Centre. Speaking tests will occur on test day unless you are notified by the Test Centre.

To register for an IELTS test, it is preferred that you complete your online application at least 5 weeks before the test date. Refunds and transfers will only be permitted prior to 5 weeks before the test date.
The application deadline with submitted payment and identification is one week prior to the test. Registrations without payment or identification will be cancelled at that time.
Please note that your seat is not guaranteed until payment is confirmed in advance of test day so you are advised to call with payment as soon as possible. You can pay with credit card by phone and by debit card or cash in person.

IMPORTANT TEST DAY INFORMATION
You will receive test day confirmation and information by email upon verification of your documents and payment.
You must bring the original proof of identification that you submitted with your application on test day.
Test day times
Registration is from 8–9 a.m on test day. The exam begins at 9:30 a.m. Late registrations will not be accepted.
Your unofficial results will be available electronically on the 13th day after the test. Official results will be mailed out on the 13th day after the test.
