Both were members of Minnedosa Collegiate’s successful soccer program, having placed in the top three each season they competed in the MHSAA AA Rural Soccer Provincials.

Brown has always been involved in athletics and was named Female Athlete of the Year in grade seven and grade eight. She is also a well accomplished community member having won multiple awards, some of which include a Student Citizenship Certificate of Merit in 2014 & 2017; the Atom-Jet Group Community Hero Award in 2017; the Governor General’s Sovereign Medal for Volunteers in 2017; and an Inspiring Humanitarian Efforts Certificate in 2018, to name a few.

“I’ve heard good things about the College’s business program and playing soccer helped me make my decision,” says Brown. “I am a team player and am looking forward to building chemistry with a new team to be successful.”

Olson also is also a well-accomplished athlete having received the award for Junior Varsity Female Athlete of the Year in grades 9 and 10. She has been named Player of the Game in numerous matches. She is also a top student having remained on Minnedosa’s honour roll during her entire high school career.

“I hope that bringing my love of the game and my competitiveness will help my new team,” says Olson. “The teamwork and competitiveness of the sport and what you can accomplish when you work together is what I love most, and I’m looking forward to playing at the next level.”

“We see a lot of talented athletes come from Minnedosa,” says head coach Mark Murray. “These two are no exception. They will raise our level of competitiveness, and I’m really looking forward to working with them.” Katie Brown
