"What a great opportunity it was to participate in an event such as this. It was an honour to represent Assiniboine and receive first place!” Stobbe said.

Stobbe competed against 17 other students, including individuals from the University of Winnipeg, the University of Manitoba and some fellow students from Assiniboine, taking home the $1,000 cash prize.

Stobbe is in the second year of the Interactive Media Arts program (Interactive specialization.)

She designed the winning logo for Planned Plates, a capstone project for three Business Administration students at Assiniboine. Their project was highlighted at the college’s Showcase of Applied Research and Innovation earlier this month.

Those students proposed creating an app that would make customers’ lives less stressful by generating personalized grocery lists and prep instructions to efficiently use all the groceries they buy, reducing food waste.

The Logo Pitch competition was part of the Manitoba New Venture Championships held April 6 at the Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship at the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba.
