Assiniboine Community College (ACC) strives to create exceptional learning experiences for our students while strengthening Manitoba through applied education and research. We are looking for an experienced leader to lead our Early Childhood Education, Education Assistant and Child Development Worker team.

Be Passionate.

With a focus on exceptional learning experiences, the Chairperson is responsible for the programs’ day-to-day operations including: hiring, managing and developing faculty and staff; program development and review; capital planning and budgeting; and ensuring program quality and growth. In addition to the day-to-day operations on campus, the Chairperson will oversee development and delivery of Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Program Management, Education Assistant and Child Development Worker programming, on-campus, through distance education, contract training and community partnerships, while ensuring industry standards and provincial needs are met.

The Chairperson – Early Childhood Education (ECE) is a member of ACC’s management team, accountable for providing academic and administrative leadership, supervision, and direction to support staff and faculty. The ECE program is offered in several communities throughout Manitoba and is a contributor to strengthening our Indigenous communities through education. You will have the experience and the political acumen for doing business with Indigenous (First Nation, Metis and Inuit) communities and for developing and maintaining strong professional networks within Manitoba and across the country.

Deliver Results.

The college is searching for a proven leader with experience working with partners and stakeholders who can spearhead the development of the portfolio. The ideal candidate has: a background in education and training; experience in at least one of the disciplines listed; creativity, innovativeness and a perspective for leadership in the development of faculty and students along with; appropriate academic credentials (Master’s degree preferred). Regular travel within Manitoba will be required.
