Assiniboine Community College has a long and successful history of delivering agricultural programming that is responsive to industries need for highly trained workers across the province. Manitoba is an export driven province and agriculture is key. ACC plays a critical role in strengthening the labour force by expanding traditional programming to meet current and emerging demands of the agriculture sector.
We are looking for a passionate and entrepreneurial individual who is knowledgeable about the agriculture sector and understands the opportunities that exist. You will be a professional ready to contribute to producing and delivering quality programs that are responsive to Manitoba’s labour market.
As the Coordinator you will: coordinate, develop and deliver existing programs (such as pesticide certification training and other agriculture specific and related training programs); liaison with industry/agriculture sector and; develop partnerships and engage with industry to offer industry-identified training.
To deliver results, you will have post-secondary education in Agriculture (or a closely related discipline). Experience in administration and coordination of academic programs is an asset. The incumbent will: identify, evaluate and requisition innovative delivery equipment to enhance course delivery; Implement the appropriate delivery method and; identify, supervise and coordinate the instructional team. You will also be responsible for the on-going supervision of curriculum development/revision, various administrative tasks, college promotion and student recruitment. Instruction within the above-mentioned program areas and related duties (up to a maximum of 15% of the time) will also be a requirement of the coordinator. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary faculty in agribusiness, horticulture, sustainable foods, environmental technologies, as well as with other stakeholders in the community and the province.
