Reporting to the Vice-President, Academic, the Director, Parkland Campus, is accountable for ensuring the Parkland Campus provides high quality educational and training programs to assist with the economic, cultural and social development of Manitoba within the context of a global marketplace.
The Director provides leadership to various internal and external committees, sectoral councils, businesses and professional associations and negotiates agreements with external partners and organizations. As a member of Management Council, the Director shares responsibility for promoting and discussing college-wide strategies and issues and ensures effective communication throughout the college community.
You will be passionate about raising the college’s profile and presence in the community through liaison with business, industry and Indigenous communities. You are excited to lead a team which will develop and maintain a network of positive relationships in the Parkland region, providing direction to respond to the overall training needs of the Parkland region. You will strive to work effectively with academic units to support the strategic goals of the College.
You are an organized and outgoing individual that takes initiative. You will be responsible for setting the direction of relationship building with our community partners, students and stakeholders to ensure success for the Parkland campus. You will develop and refine processes and lead others to develop projects in a way that will sustain growth in the Parkland community. As Director, you will look for and capitalize on funding opportunities to benefit college efforts. You will take a lead role in preparing and coordinating the Parkland region budgets, ensuring the effective use of human resources, equipment, materials to maintain effective fiscal management.
You are an innovator who gets things done. You will have a combination of relevant post-secondary education (Masters preferred) with several years’ experience working in a senior academic management position, including budgetary and supervisory experience. You have a track record of developing and maintaining positive relationships with external agencies, businesses and Indigenous communities and organizations. Your excellent communication skills, creative problem solving skills, financial management skills and ability to deal with multiple projects will help you succeed in contributing to the economic, cultural and social development of the Parkland region. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. You must be able to travel to communities throughout the province. Valid driver’s license is required.
