Salary: $31.07 to $46.16 hourly

(Educational supplement: Masters $1.45/hour, PHD $2.89/hour)

ACC is currently looking for a full-time Instructor (for 2 weeks) to teach essential skills (eg academic writing, comprehension etc) in its Applied Counselling Skills certificate program being offered in partnership with the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples in Brandon, MB.

Be Passionate. You are passionate about student success and engagement and have a direct understanding of what the education needs are for individuals going into the para-professional counselling field. You lead students to an understanding of their role in a social service setting, supporting them to integrate their theoretical knowledge with individual clients and community programs.

Take Initiative. Your previous experience shows that you are independent and look for opportunities to expand education services within the community; self-motivation is critical for this role and your energetic attitude and collaborative spirit will build the groundwork for success.

Deliver Results. As an instructor, you will have a related degree, experience delivering essential skills with an Indigenous/life skills focus, and several years of experience for a strong foundation of knowledge to support student success. You will be responsible for classroom management, ongoing curriculum development, and be comfortable teaching diverse students using multiple strategies for success. Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, ways of knowing, being and doing and/or experience working with an Indigenous organization/community are preferred. Experience teaching in an adult setting is also considered an asset.
