As Job/Graduation Coach, you will work harmoniously with traditional cultural values while encouraging students through the promotion of positive relationships and identity development. The Indigenous Job/Graduation Coach will be working with a team to support the CCA and EA programs in Pine Creek First Nations with a focus on student success and graduation.
You are passionate about student success and engagement and are versed in the principles of building a community through education. Cooperation, communication, and commitment to our students, the Indigenous communities we serve and our stakeholders are the foundation of this role.
You are independent and positive. You will work proactively with students, staff and program partners in the CCA and EA Programs, understanding the interaction between academics, personal life and career development. You will work directly with the School of Health & Human Services in serving Indigenous students by providing support and mentoring students, assisting with the transition into post-secondary school, as well as supporting their ongoing development and pathway to graduation.
Your relevant education combined with your experience has given you the knowledge and skills to support learners to achieve their goals. You are a creative problem solver who works well in a challenging role that is multi-faceted. Experience working in an adult environment and with Indigenous communities is an asset. In accordance with the college’s strategic direction, preference will be given to Indigenous candidates.
