Assiniboine Community College (ACC) strives to create Exceptional Learning Experiences for our students. We place a high priority on student success and are committed to building an environment that creates and supports a high level of student engagement. The ACC Adult Collegiate is looking for a Student Success Advisor to work alongside our students as they enter and progress through their Mature Student High School Diploma and upgrading courses. This assignment will require evening work on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

You are passionate about student success and are energized about working with a diverse student body with a range of support needs. Student Success Advisors at the Adult Collegiate provide information to current and future students about the Mature Student High School Diploma (MSHSD) program and requirements as well as college programs and courses, the admissions process, financial assistance, housing, childcare and provide ongoing academic and personal supports.

Take Initiative.

You will develop education and transition plans with students, and provide supports to assist students who are upgrading and completing their MSHSD.  You will provide critical services to students such as advising, crisis intervention and referral services. You will play an integral part in planning and implementing student support programming as well as liaising with academic divisions and external agencies.

Deliver Results.

You will have a passion for student success, a degree in a relevant field supplemented with training and experience in an educational setting. You will understand the MSHSD program requirements as well as the educational planning and reporting required by Adult Learning and Literacy. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of standardized testing and academic assessment. You will have experience working with Indigenous students, international students and students with disabilities. You will have experience in group facilitation and classroom presentations.  You will be a strong communicator who enjoys working in a solutions-focused team environment, where you strive to lead change and understand the personal and academic needs of college students.
