This one-hour discussion is part of the Fundamentals of Marketing course delivered by Cape Breton University's MBA in Community Economic Development at Assiniboine Community College.

The Master's Class will be held on Friday, June 21st at 7 p.m., and is open to the public. Seats are limited, so please register here for your free tickets and venue details.

It’s 2019... If you can’t get your product to my doorstep in under a few hours at a low relative price, then why should I buy from you? What if you don’t have the ability to secure a scale-driven cost advantage – What are you going to do? If you have the same old products and services that everyone else has, then why should I buy from you?

If Amazon and Uber and the myriad of direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands have mitigated any location advantage you may have once enjoyed, then what are you going to do?

The answer may lie in a well-conceived customer experience (CX) strategy. While it is not a panacea, a CX strategy can work with other elements of a refreshed marketing program to support both customer acquisition and customer retention and provide a defensible position for local businesses.

This Master’s Class will be facilitated by a highly regarded CBU faculty member who has been a lead advisor on strategy and marketing for organizations across North America. He is an active facilitator for management development programs focused on the acceleration of the modern strategic change effort and teaches in the CBU MBA delivered on weekends at Assiniboine Community College.
