Our Administrative Assistant Program Fits You And Your Needs!

It’s your future, so you choose how to get there. Customize your post-secondary journey by enrolling in Assiniboine’s Administrative Assistant program based out of our Parkland campus in Dauphin.

An alternative to traditional post-secondary, this program provides students with the opportunity to work through courses at their own pace until they have mastered the material.

Working from any computer connected to the internet, you’ll have eight months to complete the certificate program with instructor support by email. You will also have access to three hours of instructor-led tutorials in person at Assiniboine’s Parkland campus each week.

And the best part? You can finish early. Get everything done in less than eight months, and only pay for the months you need!

Program costs

The Administrative Assistant Certificate Program at Assiniboine Community College has been set up with an innovative fee structure of $550 monthly - this is based on the principle of encouraging our students to reach a level of competency at their own pace and continuing to offer ongoing instructor support for the duration of their studies.

We are currently anticipating a maximum completion time of 8-months for students to become proficient in their studies with early exit points available every month for those who have completed all their courses.

Books are available through the Assiniboine Community College Bookstore at an additional cost - list is available below.

Program Structure

All students will have access to a Moodle site (Assiniboine's online learning platform) that will hold their course materials and resources, and also be a one-stop location for testing materials and everything needed to complete the program. Additionally, students are able to access an instructor in-person twice a week (Tuesday and Wednesday from 16:30 - 18:00) for a total of 3 hours at the Parkland campus who will be able to assist with course materials and teach mini-lessons to students on any of the courses in the program. Students not in the local area can still take the program but will not have access to the instructor in-person for support in the course.

Administrative Assistant graduates wishing to take their education to the next level may apply for entry into Year 2 of Assiniboine’s Medical Administration, Legal Administration, or Office Management programs. This will be restricted to students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who commence their studies in second year within 5 five years of completing the Administrative Assistant Program.

This program was developed in partnership with Great Plains College in Saskatchewan, and you will receive your certificate from Assiniboine Community College.
