Cohort programs are offered at different times than our regular September program start date. Please note:

  • Full tuition and fees for cohort programs are payable prior to the program start date. All tuition and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to another program.
  • Waitlists for these programs do not roll forward to future intakes. Students must re-apply should they wish to seek admission to a future intake or an intake at a different location.

Baking Foundations

One Academic Year Certificate (13 months)

Baking Foundations is an interactive program featuring high level student/instructor interaction and a high degree of hands-on experience through in-class baking production. Students learn preparation procedures, production methods and presentation techniques for baked goods, pastry and desserts.

Comprehensive Health Care Aide - International

One Academic Year Certificate (9 months)

The CHCA program prepares you for a challenging and fulfilling career in health care. If you have compassion and respect for people of all ages and cultures, then being a health care aide can be a rewarding choice. There is a strong clinical component in a wide variety of health care settings and the program emphasizes employability skills desired by health care employers. Graduates may find employment in acute and extended care hospitals, personal care homes, private care facilities, mental health settings and home care.

Theory and Lab courses are usually Monday to Friday, six hours per day. Day or evening classes are possible; students should not plan a job or other responsibilities until they receive their full schedule. Practicums may be day and/or evening shifts, Monday to Sunday.

Food Processing (Animal Proteins)

One Academic Year Certificate (11 months)

The Food Processing (Animal Proteins) program prepares you for a cutting-edge career in Canada's growing meat processing industry. Learn all aspects of the trade, including nutrition, safety, tools, workplace values and essential communication skills. Enjoy a newly built, modern teaching lab with all the trimmings. Develop skills in curing and smoking for all types of animal protein, including poultry, beef, pork, goat and lamb.

Admission Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age by program start date
  • Academic: The equivalent of Manitoba Grade 12
  • English Language Proficiency:
    IELTS Academic test with an overall score of 5.5 with no subscore less than 5.0; OR
    Equivalent score on other acceptable English Language Proficiency assessment.
  • All applicants must sign and submit the Food Processing (Animal Proteins) Self Declaration form with their application. Applications which do not include this form will be considered incomplete.

Please note: Applicants must have good mental and physical health with the ability to lift 25 pounds from floor to shoulder and 40 pounds from knee to waist. They must be able to walk up and down stairs many times during the day, stand on concrete floors for approximately 8 hours per day and manage being in cold temperatures for extended periods of time, including going into a refrigerator and freezer.
