Comprehensive Health Care Aide - International

One Academic Year Certificate (9 months)

The CHCA program prepares you for a challenging and fulfilling career in health care.  If you have compassion and respect for people of all ages and cultures, then being a health care aide can be a rewarding choice. There is a strong clinical component in a wide variety of health care settings and the program emphasizes employability skills desired by health care employers. Graduates may find employment in acute and extended care hospitals, personal care homes, private care facilities, mental health settings and home care.

Admission requirements

  1. Academic: The equivalent of Manitoba Grade 12
  2. English Language Proficiency: IELTS Academic test with an overall score of 6.0 with no subscore less than 5.5, or equivalent score on other acceptable English Language Proficiency assessment.
  3. Current criminal record check
  4. Current child abuse registry check
  5. Current adult abuse registry check
  6. Proof of current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation - Health Care Provider (CPR-HCP)

 


Food Processing (Animal Proteins)

One Academic Year Certificate (11 months)

We want to help you make the best informed decision about your program choice.

Are you opposed to, or do you disagree with, raising animals for meat, or preparing, producing and packaging meat for human consumption? If your answer to this question is "yes", the Food Processing (Animal Proteins) program is NOT a good choice for you. We encourage you to consider a different program at Assiniboine.
