HEAVY DUTY TECHNICIAN – IRWIN AUTOMOTIVE

Irwin Automotive, based in Sinclair, Manitoba, is looking for a Heavy Duty Technician to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to service a diverse range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles along with strong mentorship and training opportunities. This position can be filled as a regular employee or as a contract Technician/Mechanic.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Assist Heavy-Duty Mechanic to service, maintain, and conduct necessary repairs to heavy duty trucks, trailers, and equipment.
• Communicate consistently with the Heavy-Duty Mechanic on the completion of repairs/service in order to continuously follow the service schedule.
• Complete oil changes, service, repair and replace tires, conduct wheel alignments, and any other duties as assigned by the Heavy-Duty Mechanic or Owner/Operator.
• Track and record the specifics of repairs completed and parts used in the shop tablets.
• Coordinate the movement and organization of vehicles in the shop to promote effective, productive, and prioritized service schedules.
• Work as part of a team to support the daily needs of the shop and ensure customers are satisfied.
• Clean as work is completed, keeping the shop clean and organized at all times.
• Keep tools (contractors supply their own) clean, organized and put away when finished.

THE QUALIFICATIONS YOU NEED:
• Must have some education or experience in heavy-duty mechanics and the desire to learn and work towards becoming a Certified Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• Familiar with the tools of the trade, Contractors must be personally equipped with adequate supply of tools required for the position.
• Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License, Class 3A with Air Drivers License an asset.
• Must have basic computer skills and be capable of learning new industry specific programs/software.
• Team player with strong commitment to the company.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

• Hours of work: 10 hours a day, 4 days a week (Monday – Friday).
