Supporting Student Education
Founded in 1997, the Assiniboine Community College Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization registered with Canada Revenue Agency. We are governed by board members who are volunteers and community leaders committed to supporting and enhancing the vision, mission and values of the college. They develop support from private sector and individuals, including Assiniboine alumni along with our staff of fundraising professionals dedicated to stewarding our donors’ best interests.
Through the Foundation, donors have helped students complete their post-secondary education by supporting them with scholarships, awards and bursaries. When we were established in 1997, $25,000 was raised from private donors in the first year. Today we…
- Provide approximately $300,000 annually in student awards; in 2016-17 $342,000 was given to more than 300 students.
- Manage a $3.1 million endowment for scholarships, awards, bursaries and capital projects.
- Have several giving opportunities to provide exceptional learning experiences.
Our donors play a large part in the college providing better training to our students. In our healthcare programs, donors contributed almost half of the $500,000 health care simulation training lab, helping our students to enjoy exceptional learning experiences. Our past campaigns have raised a substantial amount for student learning spaces.
We aim to increase the amount we distribute to students each year. Through fundraising events and with the help of donors, Alumni and staff, we can continue achieving to increase the amount given through student awards annually.
