Spend a Day at Assiniboine
One Day Can Change Your Life!
The Spend a Day program is a great way to “test drive” a program to find out if it’s the right fit for you. When you register to spend a day, we will partner you with a current student in the program of your choice and you will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in classroom activities
- Experience college life
- Explore all of our helpful services for students
- Meet current college students and instructors
When Can I Spend a Day?
Assiniboine's Spend a Day program runs from November to March for most programs, each academic year. Most programs have scheduled dates throughout the year, planned to accommodate classroom activities. We ask for at least two weeks’ notice to be able to coordinate your Spend a Day visit.
Please note: Depending on the time of year and where students are in their term (e.g. holiday breaks, exam weeks, practicum placements), it may take a number of weeks to coordinate a visit.
What Will My Day Be Like?
The Spend a Day program is a full-day commitment for most programs, generally from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you are looking for a shorter option to explore programs, consider attending a one-hour program information session.
When you arrive on-campus at the designated meeting place, you will be partnered with a current student from your program of interest. You will attend classes with your student host and participate in hands-on classroom activities. You will also have an opportunity to meet with a student success advisor to discuss admission requirements, financial aid and student supports available while attending college.
What Does It Cost to Spend a Day?
The Spend a Day program is free to register for and we will provide a free lunch for you and your student host. Depending on which campus you're attending, there may be a parking fee.
