Nominations - Parkland Region

Assiniboine is now accepting nominations for our annual Alumni Awards for the Parkland Region.

Do you know an outstanding Assiniboine alumnus?

Celebrate their achievements by nominating them by October 25, 2024. Individuals can nominate an Assiniboine Alumnus who studied within the Parkland region for one of the three awards:

Distinguished Alumni Award

Awarded to an alumnus of the college from the Parkland region who has distinguished themselves in both their chosen profession and their community.

One to Watch Award

Honours a graduate from the Parkland region who is 35 years of age or younger at the time of nomination and has made exceptional achievements and significant contributions to their profession and/or community.

2023 Award Recipients - Brandon

the Assiniboine College Alumni Association is proud to introduce this year’s recipients of its annual alumni awards. This year’s Distinguished Alumni Award recipients are Chuck Judd, an Electrical alumnus from the class of 1980 and Karen MacDonald, graduate from the Business Administration program (class of 1989). Andrew Blair, a 2017 graduate from the Power Engineering program joins Kailan Dreolini, Business Administration alumnae from the class of 2020, as the One to Watch alumni award recipients. Recently retired Early Childhood Education Instructor, Pam Nightingale and Akaps Mweemba are this year’s Excellence in Education recipients. Akaps is an Academic Coordinator and Instructor from the College’s Centre for Adult Learning.

Community Service Award

In 2020, the Alumni Association replaced this award with a second Distinguished Alumni Award. The formerly separate categories, each with one award recipient, had similar criteria and importance.

The Community Service Award recognizes an alumnus of Assiniboine who has positively impacted the quality of people’s lives through the service of others. This award highlights the value placed on “community,” which may have left our name, but is still very much a part of Assiniboine's DNA.
