Description
Are you passionate about water safety? Do you believe learning to swim is essential? As part of the Y team, the Aquatic Coordinator is responsible for providing support and guidance to lifeguards, swim instructors and lifesaving instructors. This individual will continually strive to improve the quality of the aquatic program, while training lifeguards and instructors, and ensuring sufficient staffing for programs. From ensuring the highest standard of safety and program quality, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring everyone has fun, you play an important role in the aquatic experience of our members and guests. The energy needed in this dynamic work environment requires organization, flexibility, maturity, and teamwork.

Are you the right fit?

Able to monitor, evaluate and deliver quality Aquatic programs and classes
Provide supervision, leadership, growth & development opportunities to Aquatics staff and volunteers
Provide leadership and supervision to Community Hub Staff and volunteers
Fulfill all functions of a Lifeguard or Swimming Instructor/Supervisor/Lifesaving Instructor as needed
Experience in hiring, scheduling, payroll administration, supervising and coaching staff
Monitor condition of program spaces on an ongoing basis and ensure all is in good and safe working order
Monitor staff certifications, monthly budgets, program statistics, create reports and database management
What else do you need?

2-4 years of lifeguarding experience
Standard First Aid or Aquatic Emergency Care certification (current)
NL (National Lifeguard) Certification
LSI (Lifesaving Instructor)
Assets:

Experience leading a team
NLI (National Lifeguard Instructor)
LSI IT (Lifesaving Instructor – Instructor Trainer)
Beach or Waterfront certification/experience
