Process Operator

Overview

Process Operators are responsible for operation and maintenance of production processes. They will apply safety policies and GMP knowledge in daily operations involving self and other team members.
The incumbent is accountable for executing operating steps on batches of products utilizing the proper equipment and following instructions defined in applicable safety policies, procedures and batch records.
Shift work and some overtime will be required.
Responsibilities
Following procedures in operation of process equipment. Common tasks would include monitoring process and equipment to ensure both are within acceptable parameters and proper flow of product. Must report excursion of process of cGMP parameters/guidelines. Perform cleaning of room, equipment and general area as per respective procedures. Works with all departments at the Brandon site including Administration, Quality Control, Technical Services, Quality Operations and Engineering and Maintenance. When necessary, trains new employees in all areas of the job; supervises seasonal staff in the duties. Monitor operating parameters and physical attributes of product/process during each manufacturing step. Communicate process deviations immediately and participate in troubleshooting with other team members.
Performs a variety of calculations and measurements, including visual, to ensure all aspects of the process are within parameters. Works within GMP guidelines including; recording of all pertinent information on batch records, cleanliness of area and maintenance of process equipment. Applies safety policies and GMP knowledge in daily operations involving self and other team members. Performs routine preventive maintenance, minor repairs and basic troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment and instruments.
Participates on different committees and teams at Pfizer Brandon for continuous improvement. Performs other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor/Manager. Exhibits Pfizer values and works in a team environment to accomplish individual/team goals in the manufacture of products.

Qualifications

Position Requirements
• Minimum secondary education preferred
• On-going work related training (i.e. WHIMS, GMP, Procedures, etc.)
• Computer knowledge and skills are considered an advantage
• Some mechanical aptitude is an asset
