We are currently recruiting for a Process Operator at our Winnipeg, Manitoba location. The primary role of the Process Operator is to safely and efficiently perform tasks related to Fluid Operation and Milk Receiving. The Process Operator is a member of the MDI team and as such, participates in team efforts to achieve department goals, and provides support to other roles within the operations as required. This position requires shift work, weekend and holiday rotations in a 24/7 operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
-Receive and load tankers; check all incoming tanker loads and perform milk hormone testing in accordance with the Quality Assurance standards.
-Direct flow of all incoming milk to its proper holding silos; Monitors and records volumes of milks being unloaded to prevent overflow of tanks and silos.
-Maintains all pumps, piping and other equipment, and performs Clean-in-Place CIP necessary for the unloading of products.
-Set up, Operate, Shut Down and Clean-in-Place (CIP) of computerized fluid operations; HTST Pasteurizer, Separator, Ultrafiltration (UF), Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Water Polisher and High Temperature Short Time (HTST).
-Verify all lines, tanks and equipment are cleaned and sanitized prior to use.
-Operate and trouble-shoot the pasteurizer and other equipment in order to complete daily targets.
-Perform daily calibrations of testing equipment, daily monitoring and testing of product, making adjustment for product to meet specifications.
-Complete required documentation. I.E. record information on gauges, printouts and monitors, and verify. against standards; maintain shift logs of production and other required data in batch sheets and CIP logs.
-Daily data entry of milk tickets, test orders, consumption and outputs into Navision
-Adhere to all safety policies and procedures related to job responsibilities and tasks and be actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

EDCUCATION / EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES
-Education - University Degree preferably in a related discipline
-Experience - 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment related to food or a similar industry. Fluid Processing, ------Pasteurizer and/or dairy plant experience a definite asset.
-Computer skills - working proficiency in computerized environment; use of ERP, HMI systems plus Word, Outlook, and -Excel an asset.
-Comprehension - Able to understand and follow detailed and specific instructions
-Communication - solid verbal and written English language skills
-Food Processing knowledge - working knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP and other quality systems.
-Mechanical Aptitude – able to evaluate and troubleshoot equipment or processes and implement solutions.
-Safe Work Priority – you care about keeping yourself and co-workers safe.
-Team Work – Able to work as a contributing and reliable member of the team.
-Solid work ethic - Capability to work independently without constant supervision.
-Availability - Able to work required shift schedule including weekends and holidays.
