Position Overview:
Assiniboine College is seeking a visionary and collaborative leader for the role of Director, Centre for Learning Innovation (CLI). This position provides strategic and operational leadership to advance teaching excellence and the development of high-quality academic programming across the institution.
The Director leads a multidisciplinary team of faculty and specialists, supporting professional development in areas such as curriculum design, instructional practice, educational technology, and program evaluation. A key focus of the role is to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning.
Working closely with academic leaders and external partners, the Director ensures academic programs remain relevant, inclusive, and aligned with institutional goals. This includes leading quality assurance initiatives and optimizing the use of the Learning Management System (LMS). A strong commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) is essential, reflecting Assiniboine’s mission to deliver accessible and transformative education for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing strategic leadership for the development and continuous improvement of academic programs
- Leading quality assurance initiatives and supporting curriculum innovation across disciplines
- Managing the implementation and optimization of the Learning Management System
- Collaborating with college leaders, faculty, and external partners to support relevant, high-impact learning
- Promoting professional growth for instructors through coaching, training, and mentorship
- Advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility within teaching and learning practices
- Overseeing budgets and managing major projects and departmental operations
- Collaborate to advance the institutions’ research priorities
Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in education or a related field (instructional design, curriculum studies, etc.)
- At least five years of progressive academic leadership, ideally in a post-secondary or teaching and learning centre
- A background in teaching at the post-secondary level
- Strong experience in curriculum development, program review, and educational technologies
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and manage complex projects
- A commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
