Salary: $67,144 to $105,334 annually ($35.62 to $55.88 hourly)
(Educational Supplemental: Masters $1.59/hour; PhD $3.19/hour)

As an Instructor, Primary Care Paramedic, you will help prepare the next generation of paramedics through engaging, hands-on learning experiences that reflect the realities of contemporary practice. You will design, develop and deliver learning activities aligned with current industry standards, contribute to simulation-based education, and support student learning in classroom, clinical, and practicum settings. Working collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners, you will foster student success, promote excellence in paramedic education, and help maintain strong connections with the communities and healthcare organizations we serve.
Travel will be required to support classroom, simulation, clinical and field-based learning activities, community engagement initiatives, industry partnerships, and other program-related responsibilities. This position is primarily performed in person. Depending on operational requirements, some responsibilities may be completed remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver curriculum and learning experiences aligned with Primary Care Paramedic educational standards and the national competency profile.
- Inspire and engage learners by sharing your expertise and passion for Primary Care Paramedic education through dynamic learning experiences across in-person and online settings that prepare students for successful careers in paramedicine.
- Contribute to simulation-based education through the development and delivery of realistic learning scenarios, the effective use of simulation equipment, and the sharing of knowledge and best practices with colleagues across the program and college.
- Support student success through assessment, feedback, academic guidance, and mentorship.
- Collaborate with faculty, students, and community partners to support meaningful clinical and field practicum experiences that connect classroom learning with real-world paramedic practice.
- Support excellence in paramedic education through participation in accreditation activities, program evaluation, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in student recruitment, program promotion, and ongoing engagement with industry, community partners, and advisory committees.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or advanced credential in Primary Care Paramedicine from an accredited program.
- Current or eligible for licensure/certification as a Primary Care Paramedic or Advanced Care Paramedic in Manitoba.
- Minimum five years of recent paramedic practice experience.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to work confidently in a digital environment, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and a willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies (e.g., AI tools) and college-supported platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal and professional skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively in diverse teams, adapt to change, and demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving in a dynamic learning environment.
- A commitment to fostering student success, continuous improvement, and lifelong learning is essential.
Asset Qualifications:
- Previous teaching or adult education experience, or experience leading curriculum projects.
- Experience with simulation-based education and technologies.
- Experience with clinical placements or working with preceptors/students.
- Familiarity with accreditation processes and quality assurance in post-secondary education.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (education, health sciences, or related discipline).
