ACC accepting nominations for annual Parkland Alumni Celebration

ACC's Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for this year’s Parkland Region Alumni Celebration, which will be held on April 14at the 8th Avenue Hall in Dauphin, Manitoba.

“This is a great opportunity to recognize outstanding ACC alumni in our community,” said Erin Sigvaldason, chair of the Parkland Region Alumni Committee and a 2001 graduate of the Business Administration program at ACC’s Parkland Campus. “The annual Parkland Region Alumni Celebration brings together alumni, staff, award recipients, family and friends to honour and celebrate the achievements of these recipients.

There are four awards that will be presented at this year’s event.

  • Distinguished Alumni — presented to an alumnus of the college who has distinguished themselves in both their chosen profession and their community.
  • Community Service — recognizes an alumnus of ACC who has positively impacted the quality of people’s lives through the service of others.
  • One to Watch — honours an ACC graduate who is 30 years of age or younger at the time of nomination and has made exceptional achievements and significant contributions to his or her profession and/or community.
  • Excellence in Teaching — honours an ACC faculty member for extraordinary contributions to teaching and the student experience.

Tickets to this year’s event are $25 and can be purchased at ACC’s Parkland Campus or by emailing alumni@assiniboine.net. The evening will consist of cocktails at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and awards presentation to follow.

Award recipients last year included instructor and student advisor Belva Ferley, 99’ Early Childhood Education graduate Phyllis Malcolm Racette and ’97 Business Administration graduate Ryan Rauliuk.
