Anderson Commits to Assiniboine Cougars Hockey

BRANDON, MB (March 20, 2017) — The Assiniboine Cougar women’s hockey team continues to add competitive AAA Midget players to the 2017-18 roster. The team has received commitment from Haylee Anderson of Rivers, Manitoba.

Anderson is a left handed defensive player for the Yellowhead Chiefs AAA Midget team. She is a solid defender in her own zone while adding stability and size to her team. She was a two time bronze medalist as member of Team Manitoba at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (2015 & 2016). Anderson also helped take the Hamiota Huskies to both league and provincial championships in 2012-13 and 2015-16.

“We are fortunate to add a player of this calibre to our team,” says Terry Arksey, head coach. “She sees the game and anticipates the play very well.”

Anderson will graduate from Rivers Collegiate Institute and will take the college’s Comprehensive Health Care Aide program in September. Her long term goal is to achieve her Bachelor of Nursing. Anderson enjoys playing softball and volleyball as well as hockey.
