Assiniboine introduces accelerated options for Early Childhood Education training

Assiniboine College is coming to St. Francois Xavier with accelerated option for the Childcare Assistant (CCA) program. The Overview of Early Childhood program prepares CCA’s and licensed home-based child-care providers to meet the Province of Manitoba’s requirement of a 40-hour early childhood education course within the first year of employment.

“This initiative from Assiniboine will provide new CCAs and licensed home-based childcare providers with a faster and more efficient means of obtaining their required certification” said Ryan Cardwell, Chairperson, Early Childhood Education, Assiniboine. “By offering accelerated delivery, Assiniboine is enabling individuals to obtain their required certification more efficiently, empowering them to start making a positive impact on children and families sooner” he added.

The Overview of Early Childhood course is a vital component in helping new professionals develop an understanding of the foundational concepts and principles of early childhood education, and is critical to the childcare workforce.
