Maikel Boxhorn becomes the first men’s soccer player to sign with the Cougars 2021-22 roster.

The 5’10 Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School graduate played wing and forward positions for the Plainsmen. A multi-sport athlete, Boxhorn played volleyball, basketball and soccer for Douglas School prior to his time with the Plainsmen. He also enjoys snowboarding in his spare time.

“I like building relationships with the team and the adrenaline rush you get while playing soccer,” said Boxhorn. “I’m versatile, a good team player and I can score.”

Head Coach Chris McLachlan is eager to see Boxhorn bring his experience and versatility to the team’s new-look line up.

“Maikel is quick on the ball and always makes good decisions,” said McLachlan. “I look forward to seeing him continue to develop his game with the Cougars.”

Boxhorn will be taking the College’s Networking Administration Technology program in the fall. He is interested in a career that looks to the future and knows there are many job opportunities in technology.
