Cougar Soccer Sept 29/30, 2018

The Cougar women's soccer team continues to make history improving their record with a win and draw on the weekend. They are currently tied for first place in the league.

Jerra Green was unstoppable as the Assiniboine Cougars women's soccer team defeated the Providence Pilots 4-2 at Optimist Park.

Green scored all four goals for the Cougars.

Assiniboine (2-2-1) moved into a first-place tie with Brandon University atop the MCAC women's soccer standings.


It was a testy match with a number of yellow cards issued to both teams while the coach for the Pilots was ejected.

Both teams' keepers left the game with injuries. Amelia Reimer and Makayla Myer replied for the Pilots.

The following day Jerra Green scored the lone goal for the Cougars while Camille Plett responded for the Blazers. The 1-1 draw improved the Cougars' record to 2-3-1 (W-T-L).

It was an impressive weekend for Green who scored five goals in two games.

In men's action, the Cougars lost 4-1 to the Pilots. Carson Argan scored the lone goal for Assiniboine.

Braeden Owen scored twice for the Pilots.

The men lost to the Blazers 10-0 on Sunday.
