Savannah Doak is the most recent signing for the Cougars’ Hockey team as they continue to assemble a strong line up for the upcoming 2021-22 season.

Doak hails from The Pas, MB, the 5’2 forward attended Pilot Mound Collegiate Institute where she was a member of the Pilot Mound Hockey Academy. From a young age, Doak was inspired by her older brothers to strap on the hockey skates, with her love for the game continuing to develop as she played.

“I want to play hockey for as long as I can” said Doak.

The transition to the Cougars program is an opportunity that Savannah sees as a great challenge. She attributes her determination and leadership by example attitude to be her greatest skills that she will bring to the program.

“I liked the size of the school and I had heard good things about the program from past coaches and players” said Doak. “I am most looking forward to developing as a player and creating new friendships”

Head Coach Tony Bertone looks forward to Doak bringing her agility and speed to the program.

“She is a hardworking forward that will be an asset to this year’s team. Her versatility to play Center or the wing is an added bonus to the Cougars.”

Doak has been a member of the Honour Roll since seventh grade all the way into her graduating year. Over the years she has volunteered at the local canteen selling tickets and working the bingo.

Savannah is enrolled in the Business Administration program this fall. This is a stepping stone in her path to working towards a Major in Business finance.
