Hailey Burghart is the most recent signing to commit to the Cougars’ women’s soccer team for 2021. After taking electrical courses throughout high school, it was the right fit to carry on through Assiniboine’s electrical program to further her education.

Burghart, a defencemen from Swan River, Manitoba has been a member of the Swan Valley Tigers club team while attending Swan Valley Regional Secondary School.

Originally, joining the sport for the social and fitness components, Burghart grew to love the sport through the encouragement from her coaches over the years.

“I am a team player and pride myself on always being open to improvement,” said Burghart.

Cougars’ Co-Coaches Gerry Rocan and Kate Broadhead says that Burghart’s excellent speed and strength will be an asset to the team.

“Hailey will be a versatile player for our team, she will lead by example on what it means to be a great teammate.”

Burghart has spent time volunteering at her local animal shelter and is also a member of the local 4-H Club. She will be taking the college’s Construction Electrician program this upcoming fall.
