Zane Dyck is set to compete for the Cougar Men’s Volleyball 2022-23 roster this upcoming fall.

Zane Dyck is a 6’ left side product of Rapid City, MB. Dyck played volleyball for the Elton Collegiate Sabres this past season where he was acknowledged as a player of the game during the Manitoba High School Athletic Association AAA provincials. He is a multisport athlete, enjoying golf in his leisure time as well as competing and captaining the Sabres hockey team. The sport of volleyball is ultimately where his passion lies, competing with the Brandon Volleyball Club alongside many athletes who move on to become Cougars.

“Zane is an athletic player who has the ability to play multiple positions,” said Cougars head coach Joel Small. “He works extremely hard and has shown great improvement throughout his senior year. We are excited to start working with him and unlock his full potential.”

Dyck is a member of the Metis nation and is an engaged student athlete serving on the Elton Collegiate student council. He also lent a helping hand in the sport community by taking a coaching role for the Forrest Elementary school volleyball team.

“I’ve got a lot of enthusiasm and dedication to volleyball,” said Dyck. “I love the sport and want to succeed.”

Dyck’s brother attended the college’s Carpentry and Woodworking program but Zane plans to take a different approach to trades. Dyck has enrolled in the college’s Culinary Arts program for the fall.

“Healthy eating choices and cooking are great life skills… and I love eating!” said Dyck.
