Murray Takes Over Assiniboine Cougars Women’s Soccer

Assiniboine Community College is proud to announce that Mark Murray will coach the women’s soccer and futsal teams for the 2017-18 season.

Murray was born in Dublin, Ireland. He moved to Canada in July 2013 with his family to continue his welding career at Behlen Industries.

Murray spent last season as the assistant coach for the Cougars women’s soccer team and is taking the reins from Brian Cornick, who is busy leading Cando Rail Services as CEO and Brandon Youth Soccer Association (BYSA) as president. Murray and Cornick have coached multiple youth soccer teams together through BYSA.

Murray is a keen soccer player and played amateur soccer until leaving Ireland.

“Soccer has played a huge part of my life and now my son is a keen player,” says Mark Murray. “I am very excited to be part of the Assiniboine team and I am looking forward to the team growing from strength to strength in the upcoming season.”

“Mark was great with the team this past season,” says Beth Clark, athletic manager. “His passion for soccer is contagious and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do with the team.”
