Kylee Peake has committed to play for the Cougars women’s volleyball team this coming fall.

Peake is a 5’10” left side player from Binscarth, Manitoba and will soon graduate from Major Pratt School. In 2019, playing junior varsity, the Major Pratt Trojans placed third at the Manitoba High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) ‘AA’ provincials. The following year was suspended due to the pandemic and Peake lost a season of play. In grade eleven, the Trojans won a MHSAA ‘AA’ championship (2021) and Peake helped the team repeat as champions this past season (2023). Peake was selected a provincial all-star in each of her showings at MHSAA provincials and was named a graduating all-star after this season.

“I always want to bring a positive attitude to the team and lots of competitive spirit and I’m not afraid to hit the ball,” said Peake. “I am super excited to meet all the girls and start to play college volleyball in the fall!”

Peake was inspired to play growing up watching her two older sisters play. Volleyball is a passion that runs in the family. Last season, she played club volleyball for the Virden based Club West that earned a bronze in the Manitoba U18 club provincials. Now she’s competing for Cougars coach Kevin Neufeld with the Cougars 18U club team this season.

“Kylee will make an immediate impact on our team’s success. She has a high contact point and a great arm,” said Cougars coach Neufeld. “She is a very strong six rotation player, and we are excited to have her join us.”

Peake is set to graduate in June with an 80% average. She will take the college’s Business Administration program starting in September.
