Police Studies final inspection ceremony includes honorary diploma recipient Chief Ian Grant

Earlier today, students in the Police Studies program held their final inspection and completion ceremony, welcoming family, friends, and dignitaries to the college's Victoria Avenue East Campus.

Fourteen students will graduate formally from the program at ACC's annual Brandon graduation ceremony on June 2 at the Keystone Centre.

Brandon Police Service Chief Ian Grant was presented with an honorary diploma at today's ceremony. This is the first time in the program's 10-year history that an honorary diploma has been awarded at the final inspection and completion ceremony.

The college's Police Studies program is an eight-month certificate program that teaches many aspects of policing, including procedures, physical training, conflict management, community policing, interviewing and investigating.

Graduates of the program find careers with municipal, rural and aboriginal police services as well as with security firms and within corrections.
