The Cougars Volleyball program has recently signed active player, Emma Roulette from their Cougars Club volleyball program.

Roulette, a local from Rivers, MB has been eager to get back on the court since the cancellation of her senior year and club this past season. “When volleyball shut down in March due to Covid and I didn’t get to play, I knew I wanted to pursue the sport at the post-secondary level” said Roulette.

During her time as a high school student, Roulette worked on achieving her lifeguarding and CPR certifications as well as coaching both volleyball and basketball teams.

The excitement and anticipation to join the Cougars started well-before Emma’s graduating year. Head Coach, Jeff Maxwell began building the strong team foundation for his athletes to ease them into the college playing style.

“I have always liked ACC and I have had experience with Coach Jeff Maxwell and the club team.” said Roulette. “I am really looking forward to playing

Maxwell has seen Roulette grow her athletic ability within the Cougars program over the years.

“It is also tough to find a left handed right sides and setters,” said Maxwell. “We are excited to have Emma make the jump from our 18U club program to the college team”.

Like many, the drive to compete on the volleyball court began in junior high. Emma was encouraged to pursue club volleyball and the rest was history. Part of this love for the game comes from being apart of a team and with that, she hopes to play for many more years to come.

Roulette has been accepted into the Comprehensive Health Care Aide program at Assiniboine Community College for the 2021-22 academic year with the hopes to continue on with Practical Nursing program in the fall of 2022.
