Black History Month (BHM) is recognized every February. This is a time we can learn more about and celebrate the important stories, legacies, and contributions that Black Canadians have made and continue to make in our communities, country and around the world.

World of Diversity Day - February 12th is World Diversity Day – Jamaica. Learn about traditions, listen to music and sample some Jamaica food in room 261B, Vic Ave E campus at 12:00 pm.
Movie Night – Assiniboine International is hosting Movie Wednesday | Bob Marley: One Love | February 26 at 4:00 pm in the Lecture Theatre, room 180, Vic Ave E campus.
Special Lunch Features at the Victoria Ave. East Campus - February 24, 25, 26 at the Cafeteria, nourish yourselves and experience some cultural favourites! Keep an eye on the board outside the cafeteria for the daily menu!

Threads: A Fashion Demonstration
Sunday, February 9th from 2 to 5 p.m. at WAG - Quanmajuq
Don’t miss out on the second annual THREADS: A Fashion Demonstration in collaboration with WAG-Qaumajuq. Taking place on the February 9th Canada Life Free Sunday at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, this event will include a fashion show, talks by designers, food and more! Featuring new designer Weani Designs and the talented YNK Stitches, THREADS is a celebration of Black history, culture and fashion from across the diaspora.
