A Wellness Event Series for Connection, Support and Self-Care

Take a moment to replenish your stores of mental, emotional and physical energy this January!

Refresh and recharge through this series of free online activities, resources and learnings.

All events are free and open to Assiniboine students and staff, unless otherwise indicated.

Monday, January 16

10 a.m to 2 p.m. | Blue Monday; theme

  • Join Assiniboine and the ACCSA at Victoria Avenue East campus Crossroads to literally “Fill Your Cup”. Grab a free ACCSA mug or water bottle and help yourself to free infused water and coffee/tea.
  • Join Indigenous Affairs for activities in the Cultural Classroom (Room 231) at Victoria Avenue East campus – come & go format!
Wednesday, January 18

11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. | Chill on the Hill: Fill Your Cup

Join us at Mazer Group Main Street in LECTT for free snacks and infused water and coffee/tea. Grab a free ACCSA mug or water bottle and “Fill Your Cup!”

Help yourself to some free popcorn from the ACCSA at Victoria Avenue East campus Crossroads.

11:30 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. | CLI Professional Development: Maintaining Your Wellness

(Faculty and Staff only)

This workshop will discuss ways that instructors can support their own wellness while teaching. Discussions will include boundary setting, managing stress, and strategies that you can implement to help manage stress and prevent burnout.

Bell Let’s Talk day ​​​​​​ - Theme: Wear Green and Write It Out for Mental Health Awareness. Give yourself the “green light” to reach out for help & write what your wellness needs are right now.

11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | Plan for Resilience

(Faculty and staff only)

Faculty and Staff are invited to participate in self-reflection in order to create a resilience building plan that includes healthy coping strategies for times when life gets a little, or a lot, overwhelming. Participants will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate to Dana Hospitality (campus food service providers.)

In person at Victoria Avenue East in Room 149 and LECTT in Room TBA and via Zoom.

1 to 3 p.m. | Elder Visit

Indigenous Affairs invites you to visit with an Elder in Victoria Avenue East Cultural Classroom Room 231

3 to 4 p.m. | Surviving to Thriving

(Students)

Visit College and Community resource tables at the Wellness Fair in the Gym at Victoria Ave East campus and enter to win wellness-themed door prizes.

2 p.m. to 4 p.m. | Student VIP Visit

Sean from Student VIP will have a table in Crossroads at the Victoria Inn Campus to answer all of your Health Insurance Questions!

Friday, January 27

Theme: Fun Friday

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Indigenous Affairs Activities

Join Indigenous Affairs for activities in the Cultural Classroom (Room 231) at Victoria Avenue East campus – come & go format!

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Student VIP Visit (North Hill Campus)

Sean from Student VIP will have a table in the Len Evans Building (second floor) to answer all of your Health Insurance Questions! Stop by an also grab a cup of tea.

Stop by Crossroads at the Victoria Avenue East campus to enjoy a delicious cup of tea from Forbidden Flavours!

Join therapy dogs and their handlers from St John’s Ambulance Crossroads at the Victoria Avenue East campus.
