Salary: $31.07 - $46.16 hourly; $58,764 to $87,303 annual (Classification: Instructor)

Educational Supplement: Masters Degree $2,725 per annum; PhD $5,450 per annum

Qualifications

Be Passionate. If you are enthusiastic about the Carpentry trade and feel you are ready to share your knowledge with others this may be the right fit for you. Students enjoy the hands-on experience which goes along with our “learn by doing” philosophy. You will prepare students to enter the Carpentry Trade by engaging them in a variety of intriguing lessons with a broad mix of industry fundamentals.

Take Initiative. Instructors of Assiniboine Community College provide exceptional learning experiences for students. This fall this will include providing course theory on-line therefore good computer skills and familiarity with technology are essential. Practical components will include in-shop demonstrations and projects.  Our instructors also provide leadership and mentoring to our students.

Deliver Results. To deliver the essential program results, you will have at a minimum inter-provincial (Red Seal) Journeyperson Carpentry certification combined with several years of current and varied industry experience. Skills and experience in cabinet making are required for this position.  Excellent communication, teamwork and computer skills are essential.  Experience teaching in an adult environment and knowledge of the Aboriginal culture is an asset.
