We are excited to announce that Wednesday, February 14, 2024 is Free Application Day for all Grade 12 students! This special, one-day only offer is available to any domestic high school student applying to a full-time program (that is currently open for applications) at Assiniboine Community College.

Not only does applying on February 14th mean that your $95 application fee is waived, but it also means that you will be automatically considered for our academic entrance awards (deadline is March 15) AND you’ll receive a special invitation to Assiniboine’s Focus on the Goals night at the Wheat Kings game on March 1st. After you apply, you will be contacted by our recruitment team about this event and your complimentary ticket.

Eligibility for Free Application Day:

Must be a current high school student
Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or Refugee Claimant of Canada
Must apply to a full-time program that is currently accepting applications
Must submit your application on February 14, 2024 through the Online Application Portal
Must submit a high school transcript with your application (and list of courses you are currently enrolled in for the remainder of your Grade 12 year, if not listed on your transcript)

How to apply:

To get started, create a profile in our Online Application System. Click “I don’t have an account.” You’ll need to create an account using your personal email and choose a password. From there, the online application will take you through the steps and you can fill out your information. If you already do have an account, login and start your application there. Note: You can do this in advance of Free Application Day and have things ready to go to hit submit on February 14!
Fill in all the required information and upload your documents. Please note that your high school transcript is required. You can request this from your school office. If you’re applying from your phone, you can snap a photo of the transcript to upload, or attach a scan you already have from your computer.
On February 14, 2024, at any point throughout the day, ensure you submit your online application.
When asked for application payment, select “in person/by mail.” We will waive your $95 application fee and you will not be required to pay it.

Note: If you are applying to the Practical Nursing program and do not yet have all of your requirements completed, you can still submit your application on Free Application Day, however your application will be considered incomplete until you’re able to provide all required items. When you reach the point in the online application where you are required to upload documents/items (and you do not have them), please upload a note saying you will complete the requirement. You will need to obtain all requirements before our admissions team can move forward in assessing your application.

If you have not yet completed Preparation for Nursing, you will need to check off the box stating that you have, in order to submit your application on Free Application Day.

What to expect after application:

Once you submit your application, you’ll get an email from us saying we have received your application. Our admissions team will process your application and will contact you regarding the status of your application within 2-4 weeks. They’ll also advise you if you are missing anything that you need to submit.

If you are on track to meet academic admission requirements and there is space in the program, you will be conditionally accepted. You will be asked for a $400 non-refundable tuition deposit by the stated deadline and once that is paid, you have secured your spot in your program.
