Overview
Digital Tech Fusion is seeking a Manitoba-based student or emerging illustrator for a small paid freelance client project.
The selected illustrator will create a custom black-and-white line illustration for the hero/header area of a client's personal blog website.
The concept centres around an open vintage wooden trunk or old-fashioned storage chest containing recognizable everyday lost-and-found items such as an umbrella, books, a hat, scarf, gloves or mittens, a handbag, and eyeglasses.
The desired style is warm, human, thoughtful, inviting, timeless, and slightly whimsical. The illustration should use clean black-and-white linework with varying line thickness and minimal shading.
The client's audience includes older adults, so the finished artwork should be approachable and easy to understand while remaining modern and professionally presented.
This is a paid professional client project and may be particularly suitable for a student or emerging illustrator looking to gain freelance experience and add completed client work to their portfolio.
The project will be completed remotely. Manitoba applicants are strongly preferred.
Qualifications
Current post-secondary student, recent graduate, or emerging artist/illustrator preferred
• Manitoba-based applicants strongly preferred
• Strong drawing and illustration skills
• Comfortable creating clean black-and-white line artwork
• Ability to work from a creative brief and incorporate client feedback
• Able to provide examples of previous artwork, coursework, or portfolio pieces
• Comfortable creating approachable imagery using ordinary objects rather than overt religious symbolism
• Able to communicate professionally and complete the work within an agreed-upon timeframe
Professional freelance experience is not required. Students who have suitable coursework or personal portfolio pieces are encouraged to apply.
