Overview
The Role:
• Repair and maintain heavy duty truck components
• Operate various manufacturer computer programs to run diagnostic tests
• Diagnose trouble codes, disassemble engines and other truck components, and examine parts for defects and excessive wear
• Recondition and replace truck parts and components using hand tools, pneumatic tools and precision measuring instruments
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspection of truck-tractor components
• Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Level 3 or 4 Apprentice in “Truck Transportation and Bus” or Red Seal Journeyman status is required
• Completion of a college/vocational or technical training in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic is considered an asset
• Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team
• Demonstrated knowledge and comprehensive understanding of technology and repair techniques
• Exemplary time management skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment and produce positive results with diligent respect for deadlines
• Tenacious problem solver with the ability to identify problems and implement solutions with keen attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to physically participate in job duties
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
