Technical Analyst Summer Student

Tundra is seeking a Technical Analyst Summer Student for 4 months (beginning of May until end of August) based out of the Virden office.
As a Technical Analyst Summer Student, you’ll provide IT technical support for employees of the organization. This includes troubleshooting and providing solutions for end users, their devices and their applications.
Reporting to the Lead Technical Analyst, some specific duties and responsibilities of the Technical Analyst Summer Student include, but are not limited to:

• Primary responsibility is support requests and helping users with IT issues.
• Escalate issues that cannot be addressed to appropriate department/tech.
• Documentation and resolution of issues in JIRA service management system.
• Maintain and upgrade computers, peripherals and applications.
• Manage employee onboards and departures; gathering information, verifying systems and access are granted and removed as instructed.
• Conduct research on products, services, standards and good practices.
• Utilize self-help portals and KB to help empower users to become self-sufficient with technologies; includes updating and creation of content.
• Responsible for tracking and movement of Tundra asset inventory; utilizing asset management systems.
• Communicate pertinent activities, problems, and other necessary items during daily team meetings.
• Assist and cross train in other supporting roles including systems and networking.
• Participate in on-call rotation and responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• High School Diploma.
• Must be enrolled in Post Secondary Education for Information Technology and returning to post-secondary education in September 2022.
• ITIL, Microsoft, CompTIA certifications recommended.
• Experience with business technology.
• Familiar with Microsoft Server 2016/2019, VM technologies.
• Familiar with Active Directory, Group policy, RSAT tools, etc
• Understanding and ability to work with hardware and components including desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, monitors and cell phones.
• Understanding and ability to work with business software and systems including e-mail, Microsoft Teams, remote access, etc.
• General knowledge of infrastructure technology, including routers, switches, internet, DCHP, DNS, TCP/IP, LAN and WAN.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Ability to conduct effective research.
• Self-motivated and directed.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective at multi-tasking.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
