Wyatt Black will hit the court and compete for the Cougar Men’s Volleyball team for the 2022-23 season.

Born in Kenora, Ontario, Wyatt Black moved to Brandon with his family as an infant. The 5’10 setter attended École Secondaire Neelin High School, where he played for the Spartans and maintained an honour roll academic performance. Black was a Manitoba High School Athletic Association AAA Provincial All-Star in 2019, the same year he captained the Brandon Volleyball Club team.

“I don’t give up, I leave it all out on the floor and I try to do the best I can every day,” said Black. “I enjoy volleyball over other sports because of the comradery and level of teamwork. I can’t wait to play next year!”

“I see a lot of potential in Wyatt,” said men’s volleyball coach, Joel Small. “He works really hard and brings a good presence to the court.”

Black is taking the college’s Heavy Duty Equipment Technician program in the fall.

“I have always been intrigued by mechanics and I wanted to take a trade, so here I am,” he said.
